Hodgenville is the county seat of LaRue County and sits along the North Fork of the Nolin River. Hodgenville is centrally located and the city is known for being the birthplace of the 16th President Abraham Lincoln. Hodgenville offers a unique mixture of historic buildings and fun shops.  The city is home to two national sites (Lincoln’s birthplace and boyhood home).  With a population of right around 3,200 people, Hodgenville is a small town but its location to Elizabethtown makes it a place many like to call home.  There isn’t much to do IN Hodgenville, but there are other many cities nearby.  So, if Hodgenville doesn’t have something that you need then you can go to another nearby city. Everyone here is friendly, and homes are affordable.
Hodgenville shows its rich heritage through the many celebrations, events, and fairs that are held each year.   The LaRue County Fair was established in 1907, is one of the oldest continually operating fairs in the commonwealth!

Compared to the rest of the country, Hodgenville’s cost of living is 24.9% lower than the U.S. average
